Water Service Line Inventory
The City of Huntington Park is dedicated to delivering high-quality drinking water to our customers at the most affordable rates. In compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) mandate, all large public water systems, including ours, are required to complete a comprehensive water service line inventory by October 16, 2024. The purpose of this inventory is to identify and assess the presence of any lead pipes within our water distribution system to ensure the continued safety and reliability of our drinking water.
Details
In 2023, The City of Huntington Park partnered with TruePani, Inc., a leading environmental consulting firm, to assist with the city’s Lead Service Line Inventory (LSLI) in response to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) 2021 Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR). The LCRR was introduced to strengthen the 1991 Lead and Copper Rule (LCR), which established guidelines to limit the presence of lead and copper in drinking water and safeguard public health.
The revised LCRR requires public water systems across the country to not only improve monitoring and control of lead and copper levels but also to conduct comprehensive inventories of service lines. These efforts aim to identify any potential lead contamination risks within water distribution systems. By partnering with TruePani, Huntington Park is taking proactive steps to ensure compliance with these new regulations, protecting the health and safety of our residents, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality drinking water.
Please find all the necessary information in the link provided below. This comprehensive inventory outlines the materials used in service lines throughout our water distribution system, serving as a critical step in ensuring the safety and quality of our drinking water. The acceptance of this inventory underscores the City’s commitment to maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations while prioritizing the health and well-being of our residents.
