Following is the current parks and recreation class and activity schedule. To register for a class, you must complete an Activity Registration Form and submit it in person, along with payment, to the Department of Parks & Recreation, located at 3401 E. Florence Ave., during normal office hours. Our preferred method of payment is check, credit card (Visa or MasterCard), or money order only (no cash).

Description of Classes


Aerobic Body Toning
Improve cardiovascular fitness coordination and burn calories by learning a choreographed routine to the latest music.

& Pilates
Exercises in this class are based upon strengthening muscles while increasing flexibility in the legs, arms and smaller supporting muscle groups. Great for all fitness levels.

Cardio Kickboxing

This fun four-week program gives children the opportunity to develop their creativity through different arts and crafts activities.  


Creative Little Hands
This fun four-week program gives children the opportunity to develop their creativity through different arts and crafts activities.

Pee Wee Sports
Your young child will learn the basic fundamentals of sports such as tennis, soccer, and basketball .

Start Right!

Students will learn to basic shapes, colors, sing-a-long songs, games, arts and crafts and more.

Tiny Tots
Purpose is to assist parents in building self-esteem and to help prepare for kindergarten. Participants will learn to play together, share with each other and identify objects such as shapes, colors, numbers and letters. First Aid / CPR / AED
This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who wants to learn basic first aid to help their family or co-worker. If participant requires a course completion card to meet job, regulatory or other requirements, participant may discuss with instructor prior to the class starting. The course includes the following OSHA approved topics:
- First Aid basics
- Medical emergencies
- Traumatic emergencies
- Environmental emergencies
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Guitar (Acoustic)
Don’t sit back and watch others play the guitar. Bring your guitar and learn how to read music, learn the different chords and learn how to play simple songs.
Ice Skating
Paramount Iceland's enthusiastic and dedicated coaching staff encourages skaters of all ages and all levels to have fun while learning the basic skills associated with ice skating. This class teaches the fundamentals of ice skating. Students will meet at Paramount Iceland.


Looking for a class where you or your child can learn self-defense and get a good workout? If so,
Karate is for you. Learn how to defend yourself while enjoying an excellent workout.


Learn the basics of technique and terminology. Includes learning body alignment, posture, and flexibility.

Join the fun in Folklorico dance. Learn about Mexican culture through fun and enjoyable Folklorico
dances that represent the different regions of Mexico. No previous experience necessary.
